About Coach Marlina Keppner
My Dad was in the Marines, and he worked in the Copper Mines, so we moved around quite a bit. I mainly grew up in 29 Palms/Desert Center. We moved to Tucson when I was in the 6th grade and moved again to Greeley, Colorado when I was a Junior in HIgh School. I earned a full-ride scholarship to play softball at the Collegiate level at the University of Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona University.
I started teaching in the Deer Valley District in 1988. During my first seven years of teaching, I taught at Deer Valley Middle School as an Earth Science/PE teacher. I also coached basketball and softball at the Middle School Level. I transferred to Goldwater in 1996. I have taught Physical Education, Weight Training, and Health. I have coached girls' golf, freshman girls' basketball, and varsity softball.
