Mrs. Kimberly Schneider

SHE…
She is Kimberly Schneider.
She eats spicy food all the time.
She doesn’t have cravings for sweets.
She is married to a guy named Ken (so we get introduced as Ken and Kim it's interesting).
She played adult kickball
She has 2 little Schneiders boy and a girl.
She thinks they are amazing little Schneiders.
She tries to conquer her smiling addiction.
She fails daily.
She loves to be goofy with everyone.
She loves Yellow (neon bright yellow).
She’s a photographer with a degree in visual journalism.
She loved her life as a film photographer but has fully moved into the digital age.
She rocked out to Aero Smith, Metallica, Tori Amos, Dave Matthews Band and Boyz II Men (90’s child).
She’s showing her age at this point in the bio.
She grew up in Phoenix.
She was a tomboy growing up.
She will crawl on the ground and climb on ledges/ in trees to get a great photo.
She loves construction work (fixed and renovated most of her house).
She has never liked chic flicks.
She LOVES sports but kinda hates baseball.
She had a roller derby persona called Yellow Fever #108° then it changed to Yellow Phoenix #602 before she retired.
She loves to pat herself on the back and believes the world revolves around her.
She really doesn’t, but confidence is a great feature.
She hopes you enjoy her poem.

Mission Statement

Our mission as the BGHS Fine Arts Department is to create a safe and collaborative environment that embodies the IB Philosophy; and to provide students with creative opportunities that expand their learning beyond the classroom.

VISUAL ARTS

Students examine and respond to a body of artwork and compare the themes of the artwork to social, cultural, or political issues in their own lives and in their local and global communities. Students learn tools and techniques dealing with Drawing, Collage, Painting, Fibers and Sculpture. Students choose an art-making approach, plan an artwork that investigates meaning relevant to a current theme or idea, and document the art-making process. After an in-progress critique based on relevant criteria, students revise and complete their artwork and provide an artist's statement. Students curate and present an exhibition to the public.
