Ms. Marianne Durell
Welcome, English Language Learners: My name is Marianne Durell and I teach ELD at Barry Goldwater High School. I am from Central New York and taught English both there and in New Hampshire before teaching in the beautiful state of Arizona. Before teaching in Deer Valley, I taught ESL to adults at a small school in Glendale. I have worked at DVUSD since 2015 and I have been at Goldwater since 2018. I have a daughter who attends Mountain Ridge and another daughter who teaches school in Peoria.
My family and I love to read, hike, kayak, travel and run. My husband ran in high school and college, my eldest ran for GCU, and my youngest currently runs for her high school. I've run two marathons and am excited to say that I qualified for Boston and hope to travel there to run there next April. Don't be surprised when I encourage you to join Goldwater’s amazing team.
