Hi there!
My name is Arilyn Streety and I teach English Language Arts at Barry Goldwater High School. I graduated from ASU in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a Focus on English. I have grown up in the Deer Valley district and I am happily continuing my career here.
My classes are all about connection between people on the page and in person. Students can expect to look deeper into character interactions as well as be able to apply these skills to their real lives. It becomes more important for students to collaborate with each other and depend on their peers for support. I am glad to be able to support everyone’s success from inside the classroom that will carry them wherever they choose to go after high school.
About our Learning
This school year, please be checking in with your students' Sophomore Personal Project or their Senior Institute Project as both of these are year-long events. Students are fully responsible for these projects, and may require frequent reminders outside of myself.
Students are regularly reading in class, so please check with them to unsure they are on top of it!
