West-Mec/ CTE Options
CTE (Career and Technical Education)
Deer Valley Unified High Schools offer Career and Technical Education classes that both satisfy a credit for high school graduation AND offer a rich (and often certificated) curriculum that is valuable on a job resume/application or college admissions form. At this time Barry Goldwater offers Culinary Arts, Business Operations, Drafting, Graphic Design, Software Development, Marketing & Entrepreneurship, Media Productions, and Intro to Law Enforcement.
Our sister schools offer other CTE classes that students are able to travel to if the course is part of their four year and/or Education Action Career Plan (ECAP). Those classes include Accounting, Aerospace Science, Engineering, Future Teachers Academy, Health Care Careers, Hospitality, Interior Design, Nursing Professions, and Sports Medicine. Students should talk to their Counselor about planning to take those off-campus courses.

West-Mec Courses
The ever popular West-Mec District is our partnering district that offers central programs at various locations off campus. Their sequenced curriculum is intended for students at all levels of achievement looking to enrich their career readiness upon high school graduation. Students can apply for classes for the 2020-2021 School Year as well as research course descriptions at www.west-mec.org.
